About Medimi
Medimi develops and markets e-health solutions that improve compliance with and monitoring of medication. The company’s products are manufactured in Sweden. Marketing and sales have so far been done together with cooperative partners.
In Denmark, our medicine handling system is implemented along with the CareConsult A/S IT company, ATEA Danmark and Svanens pharmacy in Fredrikshavn. In Sweden, Medimi cooperates with Apoteksgruppen and others and in Norway with Hepro.
Our aim is to offer the Swedish market a solution that entails the municipal councils radically reducing the time spent in handling medications, and thereby freeing up hands in the service of patient care.

Socio-economic Forces
That quality and safe handling of pharmaceuticals is important and has been known for a long time. The negative effects of poor pharmaceutical handling effects both the care recipient and the costs within patient care negatively in many regards*. The WHO states that in developed countries, only 50 percent of people with chronic illness take their medicine in a manner that the doctor prescribes**. We also know that the world’s population is getting older and older. Age is associated with increased illness scenarios and the number of medicines that must be handled.
Looking at the demographic development, the number of persons who are over 80 years old in Europe will be at least double within the next 30 years**. Fewer and fewer people are going to take care of an ever growing population that is becoming sicker and sicker. Health care needs to be made more efficient. The system and solutions for managing medications are important to solving the challenges that health care will face.
Pandemics and Preparations
Pandemics requiring increased distancing and improved handling of medicine are what we see as a vital driving force behind our solutions as time goes on. Through our solution, we improve the handling of medicines, which may result in less spread of infection to risk groups. Furthermore, social distancing can increase as risk groups need to be visited to a lesser extent to manage their medications

Connectivity and IOT are Necessary
Utilising new internet technology is a condition necessary to meet the challenges that health care is facing. Medimi was early to utilise the constantly increased expansion of internet access and adapted its products accordingly.
The interest in embracing MedicPen's innovations is increasing as more homes are connected to the Internet and become so-called Smarthomes. MedicPen’s internet-based products are very well suited to this environment, which is positive for the care recipient’s health and self-determination; at the same time, the care providers can make management of pharmaceuticals more efficient.
